One wedding. Two days. Their own rules.
An intimate wedding at Schloss Mirabell, followed by an unforgettable mountain adventure in Austria.
Some couples dream of a big wedding with everyone they love. Others prefer to keep things a little more intimate.

Nina and Marco? They had their own idea. And it was a pretty good one.

A civil wedding in Salzburg. A honeymoon in the Austrian Alps. And two very different days to celebrate their love.

First, let's get married!

Their story began at Schloss Mirabell in Salzburg, where Nina and Marco said their official I dos in May 2026.

We started with getting ready, followed by their first look at the hotel due to the heavy rain. I found a quiet, intimate corner where they could see each other for the first time without an audience. After the ceremony, we headed outside for a few portraits around the palace and, almost as if someone had ordered it, the rain stopped. We were gifted a beautiful window of dry weather that aligned perfectly with our schedule.

But the beauty of their plan? We didn't need to squeeze an entire mountain photoshoot into their wedding day.

They had already decided to save that part for their honeymoon.

Wedding dress, take two!

The very next day, we met again in the mountains near Maria Alm.

Nina and Marco had dreamed of mountain views and golden evening light from the very beginning. My kind of people! (:

Before their trip, I'd put together a selection of mountain locations around their hotel, with suggestions for the best light, timing, logistics, and even a few activities they could enjoy along the way.

And knowing how quickly mountain weather can change, I kept three additional days after their civil ceremony available, giving us the flexibility to choose the best conditions for their mountain session. It turned out to be the perfect decision.
Their originally planned shoot day turned rainy, and we moved our adventure to another day instead. In doing so, we caught the only clear evening of the week before the rain rolled back in.

And this time, there was no civil ceremony to get to. No guests waiting. Just the two of them, their wedding outfits, and a whole new chapter of their celebration.

Sometimes a little flexibility makes all the difference

The promises that deserved their own moment

One of my favourite parts of their mountain day happened at Jufenalm.

Surrounded by the mountains, Nina and Marco exchanged their personal vows. Not as part of their official ceremony, but as a moment they had chosen especially for themselves.

And Marco had another little surprise waiting: a promise ring for Nina.

Those are the moments I love most about intimate weddings. The personal touches that make a day unmistakably yours.

And then, the mountains gave us a sunset.

We finished our adventure at Prinzensee, with the mountains stretching out around us and the evening light doing its thing.

A completely different atmosphere from their wedding day in Salzburg.

Same couple. Same love story. Two beautiful experiences.

And photographs that tell both sides of it.

And because some moments deserve a little movement too, we captured parts of their adventure on video, including drone footage. Their little wedding highlight reel became one more way to relive their adventure.

Elopement for two allows unique activities
So, who says your wedding has to fit into one day?
That's what I love about Nina and Marco's story.

They didn't have to choose between the elegance of a city wedding and the freedom of the mountains. They simply made room for both.

Your wedding doesn't have to follow a template.

Maybe your dream is a quiet ceremony followed by a mountain adventure. Maybe it's exchanging personal vows somewhere with an incredible view. Or maybe it's something entirely different.

The wonderful thing about an intimate wedding or elopement in Austria? There is so much freedom to make it your own.

And I'd love to help you make the most of it.

With love from the mountains, Irina
